Hello I am new here and am working a logo and want to remove an item where it used to say LLC which I was able to color  black but I would like to remove/delete  that from logo and move tree branch to the left to take up the empty space --once unsightly black box is removed !! 

I have tried to ungroup to no avail it is as you can see a svg. file

When it's vector based you can use the Node-tool, select every node of the unwanted parts and hit backspace to delete.
