Hi! I'm new to inkscape and I've encountered a problem where my previously visible paths/objects are no longer showing in the "Paths and Objects" panel. I can still see, select, and edit them on the canvas but my layers are empty. Please advise on what I can do to fix this!

@ajmajew If you are in version 1.2, I think you are referring to the "Layers and objects" panel. In that case, you may have clicked the "Switch to layers only view" button. Disable it.

@mrks9 Thank you! I did in fact click this button at some point and this was the fix I needed :) 

I'm having this same issue, I'm using version 1.2 as well, but I don't remember clicking on "Switch to layers only view" and I cannot locate anything anywhere that would do or even un-do this. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you.

The "Switch to layers only view" option can be found in your "Layers and Objects" panel. The button is right next to the "add new Layer" button.

Thankyouu @aboode95. I thought that button was to delete a layer since it looks similar to add layer. Very misleading icon & button location.
