I just started using Inkscape 1.3 on MacOS and I can't find the way to open multiple files in the same window (as tab) or group open files in the same window.
It used to work in 1.1 using the Window menu (AFAIR) but there is no Window menu anymore in 1.3.
Not in front of my Mac right now, but I believe there's an entry in the View-menu saying "open in tab" or something like that. Dig for it. ;-) Or type "tab" in the help menu search field.
I tried 1.2 and 1.3 on Debian. No Window menu.ย I can't find a way to open tabs.
I tried 1.1 and 1.3 on MacOS.ย Window menu is not always displayed and opening in tabs is controlled from System Preference (it works with the right system preference).
I tried the Help menu and that is what brought me to the MacOS setting.ย Typing 'tab' in the search box yields only one Inkscape specific result : Morphology>Contouring Table.ย The rest is MacOS.

I just had a look at the Inkscape manual (dates back to v0.92) : no 'Tab' in the index and not a word about tabs in 'The Anatomy of the Inkscape Window'.

View - not window. It's not controlled by macOS Preferences. Type "tab" in the help search and follow the hints.

Thanks but in 1.3 on Catalina, View>Show Tab Bar does not appear.
Anyway, it works with the Setting I mentionned above and I can drag and drop tabs from one window to the other.
1.3 on Linux not available either.
