It works for me in Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu, IIRC) .
What seems to be the problem? I had an issue copying the extension files into the correct folder, until I opend the correct folder as 'administrator' (or root in some cases).
I have just tried this extension with inkscape 1.1 under win10, and got a 'program non responding' issue on my first attempt--saving a couple of paths as .svg.
I had to forcibly close Inkscape (after some half hour), and uninstalled the extension--a pity, for I found afterwards that both paths had been exported all right.
I would like very much to be able to use the extension, as exporting several single paths from a working svg, so that they can imported into gimp, can be quite a pain: thus I am ready to do any required testing…
I may mention--in case it is relevant--that my working svg didn't contain any layers, having begun as an export from gimp. Therefore, instead of adding layers, I just opened the 'objects' panel and worked from it.

I've never installed that one, so I can't help. If no one else answers, you'll need to contact the author, and report your problems.

Hello!

Many thanks!
