I have a file with a project that I used to be able to open without any problems but when I tried to open it today by double clicking it nothing happened. I went on to open Inkscape first and then load the file from there but I only received a message that said Inkscape failed to open the file. Additionally, when I open the file with editor there is no text, the page is completely empty, even though the file still has a size of 175 KB. Any solutions?
Nice, hours of work down the drain. Well I guess I won't be using this goddamn shit program anymore. Should have known that if it costs nothing it's worth nothing.
The only time I saw something like this, it was due to malware encrypting my files. Nothing to do with Inkscape. I'd advise you to check the "modified" date for other documents on your system.

I guess the file is dead:
I'd look through the autosaves and see if there is an un-corrupted version.

The location of autosave directory differs depending on the OS https://inkscape.org/forums/questions/have-you-set-your-autosave-check-it-now/
