Sadly that doesn't when text is in annotations/markups (I'm not sure about the corrrect name). I've tried a number of tools and so far only libreoffice Draw was able to recognize these texts (but was very slow).

Is it possible to import PDF so that text doesn't just become shapes, but stays in its original texty form that can be selected, edited?
Why is it happening in the first place?
