Hi, I'm totally a noob at Inkscape but am trying to learn how to do things. I am messing around and was making a "simple" city drawing. Here are the problems I'm having:
1. I want to move my gradient around and change the color of the gradient but I don't know how. When I try to adjust the gradient it just moves my rectangle not the gradient. Do I have to select something specific?
2. I made a bunch of windows and think it would be cool to put a gradient on them so it somewhat looks like the sunlight is hitting them but I don't want to have to put a gradient on them individually. Can I like combine all of the windows somehow and then apply a gradient to all of them at once?
Hey InkscapeNoob+1542, its great that you are learning a new software. I am pretty new to Inkscape as well and gradients took me a little bit to figure out. I made you a short video walking through your questions. Hope it helps!

1.:
2.: Yes, this will work; all windows Path->Combined or as separate rectangles. Or if for each window via Paste-style.

@JonahT select one yellow rectangle - then rightclick->Select Same: fill color will speed up things here.
