How do I get long cornered rectangle around the square object?
Doing this manually by duplicating and dragging the duplicate creates inaccuracies upon putting it in another part of the object. I remember seeing a video on how it was done, but can't remember what it was called and by whom
If you're not familiar with the tools check out Inkscape's Help->Tutorials or go YouTube and find videos for beginners from "Logos by Nick" for instance.
Polygon just took time to answer you despite you weird question (I don't really understand your needs, toođ€).

@charlesxavier I'll give you a first and final warning to rethink your language and tone of voice. If you are unable to read, understand and perform simple step-by-step instructions or asking alternative questions and only looking for insults, moderators will ban you from the forum. Simple as.

Then I guess this sentence will be also self-explanatory.
Nobody there wants to troll you, we just take time to answer and try to help other users. We just can't understand your question, wich sounds clear for you but not for us. Don't be offensed.

I don't think anybody, anywhere can help with this.
If you know what you want, and you can't reproduce it in Inkscape, you could upload a hand-drawn sketch (as David248 suggested) or perhaps include an image that you want to replicate.
A few things before I finish. If somebody (like Polygon) doesn't fully understand your question, it's polite to say so. This is not an insult to you, it's his request that you clarify your needs. You just need a thick stroke with round end caps - which you can convert with Path->Stroke to Path in the end if needed.
And do what afterwards?
.
Convert stroke with Path->Stroke to Path to make it a shape.
And then what do I do?
I probably don't understand the question. You can take the Bézier-tool and draw a thick stroke by clicking at the corners of the underlying rectangle. Closing the rectangle don't makes sense as you will loose the round end-caps of the stroke and there's a rectangle tool to do so instead.

Why did you bother even answering if you don't understand the question?
Maybe you meant to say "Why did you bother to answer my incoherent question?"
Polygon just took time to answer you despite you weird question (I don't really understand your needs, toođ€).
Please take this into account đ

You never gave me any steps to follow, if so show me what stepsÂ
And for reference I have screenshots of your conversations with me @polygon

Offensed? Thatâs not EnglishÂ
OK. My attempt at humour didn't land as I intended. I'll parse your original post and try to de-escalate this conversation.
What do you mean by "long cornered rectangle"? What is the "square object"?
What are you duplicating? Where are you dragging it?
What do you mean by "inaccuracies"? What behaviour did you expect?
As before, which object are you trying to modify?
I don't think anybody, anywhere can help with this.

Sorry, I'm a poor french : I meant "ne vous sentez pas offensé" : don't feel offended
I'm locking this topic for posterity and giving @charlesxavier a chance to start over.
