Beginners' Questions How to export a selection to SVG

    I am a complete beginner.

    I want to export parts of my SVG drawing to other SVG.ย ย 

    I tried following instructions here:ย https://gist.github.com/BjoernSchilberg/7c4084798e8a9b6d5cbb45a06a36314a

    However, when I reopen it shows me the whole SVG.

    Is there any other option, e.g., exporting layers, hiding objects, etc.
