    Hello,

I want to duplicate a specific path of my map near a lake but when I try to do so my cursor selects the entire map.

I've read through other tutorials that suggest breaking apart the path into different sub paths but it dosen't seem to work for me.

    Sorry for all these questions.

In Inkscape 1.1 it´s simply select contiguous nodes - copy - deselect path - paste. There you have it as a new object. You can paste into existent path as well as combined path or in exchange for other selected nodes. Pretty fun stuff.
