    Meow

I have InkScape 0.92.5 at this moment. And Windows 10 pro 64 bit.
And I found there very strange problem.
In picture vith 3 layers I select group.
    Then I use tools:
    1. Path / Object Properties / Hide - hide selected group
    2. Close Object Properties window
    3. Select other object in different layer
    4. Unselect all
    5. Object / Unhide All

And first selected group is gone. Deleted. Why?

But if I in point 3 select object in same layer, then hidden object comes back at command Unhide All.

    Very strange and very dangerous.

Hm, maybe is this problem already solved in version 1.0, or 1.0.1?

Just like "Select All" in the Edit menu, unhide-all in the Object menu will operate on the layer, not the entire document.

I'd open the Objects dialog (not the Object properties). There you can find/hide/show all layers/groups/objects.

Hide/show all in the Objects dialog will operate on all layers.

Inkscape 0.92.5, 1.0 and 1.0.1 all have two unhide commands.
Unhide All and Unhide All In All Layers.

In 1.0 and 1.0.1 Unhide All is still default in Object menu, but you can easily add/remove commands to the Object menu yourself by editing menus.xml with a text editor.

But you can't do this via user dialog window? I mean doomies style?

Sorry, but I can't find command "Unhide All in All Layers" in Objects window.

No, you can't find this in your menu without editing menus.xml with a text editor like I did in mine (see pictures of my menu and the new code added using Notepad++ to make this happen).

You can create your own Keyboard Shortcut to this command in both 0.92.5, 1.0 and 1.0.1. Go to Preferences-Interface-Keyboard Shortcuts (Search: unhide). You should see both commands listed under Layer. Click on the empty space in the column Shortcut to add your own.
