I am trying to change the default setting in my Inkscape. Every video I have watched all have me dig down my C drive until I get to the Inkscape Template folder.....mine is found in the "Program Files" folder and not "Program Files (x86)" folder. There I am to look for the "default.svg" file. I do not have this file. The only file closely resembling this is "default.sv".
Are these two files the same? I am using a new Dell Workstation Model 7740, and I am using Inkscape 1.0.1 (3bc2e813f5, 2020-09-07) which I downloaded directly from Inscape.org.

Have you tried using the save template option from the file menu ?
As well as saving templates, it has a checkbox to save the current file as the default template.
