If I make a geometric shape then do "object to path" then I can select "edit paths by nodes" and do things like "make selected nodes corner" and "make selected nodes smooth" and then manipulate the handles and everything works exactly as I would expect. I have used point handles in photoshop for many years and am comfortable with how they work. So far so good. But now I try making some shapes using "draw freehand lines" followed by a few pressings of ctrl-L to simplify, and then I try and do the same kind of manipulations with points and handles but now there is a strange behavior with corner nodes. As I move one of the handles around, the line emanating from the selected point jiggles rather erratically and will occasionally emanate from the point in a wildly different direction to the direction of the handle. Its as if the system doesn't really like there to be a sharp cusp at this point and is attempting to smooth somehow. It feels like a bug to meย - I hope I'm wrong.
