Hi! I'm working on creating a custom map for a national park for fun. I'm using a service to create the elevation lines based on google map elevation data. The issue I'm having though is that the lines are shapes. Not single lines. This causes issues when I try to round the lines a bit since they come out very sharp from the service. So basically what I need to do is somehow convert these lines to single ones or find another solution. I have seen some methods for this but they all require some manual editing. This is not really a possibility for me since I'm working with a huge amount of lines.ย
My inkscape crashes every time I try to use the centerline trace. Could that be due to my computers capacity? I'm on a potato computer at the moment so wouldn't be a surprise
Sure, it's always a possibility that the failure lays with the computer hardware or cluttered OS. To test this, simply take your Inkscape file to another computer and see if it still have the same crash issue.

I'd try: make a bitmap copy and do a centreline trace with Path->Trace bitmap.
That is a good idea! I haven't gotten it to work yet but it should be possible after some playing around :) Thank you!
