When I closed and reopen a detached panel, for example the layers panel, it change it's last position to some pixels to the top and right. If I continually do this, the panels change it's position until it reaches the upper right corner of my screen.

It is so annoying, is there a way to fix it?

    My Inkscape version is 0.92
In using Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma.
    Plasma version: 5.17.5
    Kernel version: 5.4.14-2
    My window manager is Kwin

Yes, you can try Edit menu > Preferences > Interface > Windows

There, you can look at Saving Dialog Status

    and

    Saving Window Geometry

I'm not sure exactly which settings you need, since I don't use them.  But you can read the tooltip info, and experiment with them.

Thank you for the help brynn.

"Floating dialog behavior" fixed it. "Remember and use last window's geometry" and "save and restore dialogs status" also were good aditions. However, the floating option has created a new issue it seems, because now all the dialogs are open when I start Inkscape and though I close all that I don't need they keep showing at restart.

Hhmm, now I see the answer to what I asked in your other message.  Version 0.92.

All the dialogs should not be opening when you start Inkscape.  At least not to my knowledge.

For Saving Window Geometry, try Save and Restore window geometry for each document.  If it's what I think it is (and I'm not sure) it should at least not have every dialog open for the same document, and only for new blank documents.

Although I still don't think Inkscape should ever open all the dialogs at once automatically.  I think Save and restore dialog status should prevent that.

Could you open a new document and make a screenshot?  I'm just curious to see what it looks like when every dialog is open at the same time.

That has to be a bug, right?  Anyone else?

I just did a fresh reinstall of my OS (Manjaro KDE Plasma) and now the issue of all dialogs showing up every time I start Inkscape is not happening anymore. I really don't know what was the cause but since it was fixed upon the reinstall of my OS I supposed it have something to do with my old window manager settings, since the dialogs in Inkscape behave like separate windows at least it seems like that to me, I mean I even can give them special windows setting. In Illustrator for example the dialogs are more mmm integrated into the software? Sorry I'm just trying to elaborate some hyphotesis.

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to help me brynn, I appreciate it.
