Beginner's problems. Inkscape is wonderful, but sometimes it is hard.
What is wrong with this svg file?ย ย https://www.motionmountain.net/IMAGES/ill-chair-v4.svg
(1) Why is there white space at the left? How can I get rid of it?
(2) Why does the svg file online miss the included jpeg (or why does Firefox not show it) that is part of the file on my hard disk?
Here is the result in Latex: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/361866270ย Page 4 includes the figure.
(3) how do I set eps cropping to my wanted region?
After hours of trying, thank you very much for any help.
Happy holidays.

The scissor paths each have a rogue node. Deleting those bad nodes allows a Fit-page-to-objects/selection.
Thank you very much, Tyler!
One more beginner puzzle, from the same preprint:
The file https://www.motionmountain.net/IMAGES/ill-entangled.svg contains various lines that are dark green.
I want to change some green lines to black and others to blue. But I do not manage. Ungrouping does not help.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you in advance for any help!
This is common in images from PDF and Ai. Many objects will be "clipped" by those platforms. Maybe I'd go this way:
Tyler, thank you very much again - it looks as it should, now!
All the best for the new year!
Here is my last issue - it might be an Inkscape bug though. (I am using Inkscape 1.3 - but it also happens in 1.3.2)
The file www.motionmountain.net/IMAGES/ill-advancing-tangle.svg
contains three groups. Now, I want to push them closer to each other.
But when I do, something strange happens with the black and blue "clouds".
They somehow remain fixed, as if behind a window.
How can I shift everything together?
