Is it possible to colour objects in opaque white? The problem is when I try to colour my object in white, it is still coloured in the colour of surrounding objects (which is not white). Previously, I coloured the bigger object in another colour, but when I added white ellipse over it, the ellipse had the same colour as the object across which it was put. Also, moving the object to layer 1 didn't help. If I colour it to another colour, it works, but not for white.

I'd review the Basic tutorial in the Help menu.

    Welcome to the forum!

Yes, it's possible to color something opaque white.  There could a be a lot of reasons why it doesn't seem to work for you.  If the tutorial which TD suggested doesn't help, please share your SVG file with us.

Actually, it helped. It just didn't work with color picker, and with setting colour in the right side bar. But when I choose object colour from the bottom colour bar, it works... However it seems that painting with bucket isn't quite effective. If we simply set colour of the preset objects, painting is fine. But if we colour bounded areas with bucket, it seems not to fit to the shape... However, I am satisfied with what I got so far.

    Thanks for your help !

I just didn't assume that the solution lies in the basic tutorial.

There is also a User Manual in the Help menu.
