Beginners' Questions Bug or intended behaviour: shift + mouse drag selects background ovj?

    Hello Inkscape users and developers!

In the attached video you can see a grey background with three coloured rectangles. When I used Inkscape 1.1 and wanted to select the three coloured rectangles I would use shift + mouse drag to select them. If I did that and started inside the grey background it would only select the the three coloured rectangles, however when I do the same thing in Inkscape 1.2 it also selects the grey background (which I don't want)! Is this the intended behaviour and have the keyboard shortcuts changed or is this a bug? Does anybody now what I'm doing wrong? Or does somebody know how I can solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    Distribution: Fedora 37
The behaviour occurs in Wayland and X Windows.

You might have to deactivate this option:

    Hello Polygon,

A thousand thanks πŸ€—! That was it πŸŽ‰!!

I didn't even know that this option existed!

This saves me so much frustration!

    Thanks πŸ˜ƒ!!
