In the attached video you can see a grey background with three coloured rectangles. When I used Inkscape 1.1 and wanted to select the three coloured rectangles I would use shift + mouse drag to select them. If I did that and started inside the grey background it would only select the the three coloured rectangles, however when I do the same thing in Inkscape 1.2 it also selects the grey background (which I don't want)! Is this the intended behaviour and have the keyboard shortcuts changed or is this a bug? Does anybody now what I'm doing wrong? Or does somebody know how I can solve this problem?

You might have to deactivate this option:
