Beginners' Questions Black doesn't go to 255

Hi all. I've recently purchased a lazer engraver and had a first run with it using inkscape yesterday which turned out surprisingly well.

Today I got a new laptop and installed inkscape to carry on playing and learning the programme. I'm aware for raster engraving the black property has to be at 255,and rgb all at 0. This was no problem yesterday, however on the new laptop the black only goes to 100? It's the same version of inkscape I used only yesterday so I'm confused as to why it now goes to 100 only.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Interesting.

The change to 0-100 was made to HSL and HSV a while back.

RGBA still have 0-255 in my v1.0 on linux.

Describe your OS & version, the version of Inkscape and the installer you used.

I'm on windows 10, using verion 1.0 of inkscape and downloaded it from the download tab on this website using the download for windows option

I've also just realised that is the A property is at 0 (ie for vector engraving i was told i need r,g,a all at zero, blue at 255) the line disappears altogether? So it's making me have to colour, and the a property turned all the way up (still only getting to 100 with a)

There are six different installers for windows, (32 and 64 bit; each with exe, msi, 7zip) which did you download and install?

Paths can still be seen by using View>Display mode>Outline. Stroke color will not be present, but not visible.

100 vs 255 is an interface convention... the both mean totally on. (100   100%, 255 = max hexidecimal value)

Does a file that worked in the old computer work in the new one?
