Beginners' Questions bezier tool - I want to make a dfx file for a laser cutter

    Hello!

    I have drawn an image using the bezier tool.ย  I have combined the individual parts and now I wish to trace the image. And that is were things go wrong. I have tried to welt the image but then the image becomes completly messed up. Who can help me out

    I'm not understanding the workflow... why trace?... what is the final goal...?

    I want to make a dfx file for a laser cutter and I so I need the outline but also a line tracing the innerparts. I hope this makes sence?ย

    Look in [Help > Tutorials > Inkscape: Advanced] for methods to combine paths and shapes. Perhaps you'll find what you need here.

    If I don't misunderstand what you wrote, perhaps you just need to convert stroke to path : select you the shape drawn with bezier tool, set the right stroke width and do Path > Stroke to path (Ctrl + shift + C). You then get two paths : the outline and the innerline.
