I have version 1.0.1 and when I create a design for POD 4500 x 5400 by choosing px in the top banner (because at the beginning Inkscape is always in mm) to export in png by selecting design or selection Inkscape records at 13000 x 15000 px 300dpi. its to much because I want to stay at 300ppp
Yes i want to export 4500x5400px . I took your advice and the end result is that my file weighs 16875x12981 px 300dpi. If I import the file into Printful t-shirt design maker it displays 1282 dpi. it is really too much.
for print on demand it is strongly recommended to produce in 300 dpi for print quality. if I change from 96 ppp to 300 ppp the pixels go to 18000.
So I can't make a 5400x4500px design in 300 dpi?
Sorry - this is nonsense - it depends on final print size. It´d means you need a 237megapixel image? If you really think you need this you can force Inkscape to export at this dpi value - will take a while but should work.
I suggest to go to some online dpi calculators where you enter final print size + dpi and will receive px-values as a result.

If I got it right you want to export 4500x5400px? Simply put in these numbers at the image size and ignore dpi.

Don´t touch dpi:
