    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create a new topic in some forum.
    2. In a separate browser tab or window, find some URL. E.g., https://duckduckgo.com/
    3. Paste that URL into the window, and without typing the Return key, type the spacebar on your keyboard and then some arbitrary letters such as "asdf".
    4. Then see this:

https://duckduckgo.com/ this is a test of the emergency broadcast system. This is only a test ... BEEEEEP.

Oops. something needs to stop extending the "link attribute" or whatever it is called and revert back to normal text.

See screenshot in case the above doesn't come through: https://i.imgur.com/06yDFsh.png

this should go to the inkscape-web issues page: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape-web/issues

Please search for duplicates, I think this has been reported before.

It indeed has been requested before!  But the report was closed with "Won't Fix".  So if Martin is now saying it will be considered, please do make a report!

I searched both Open and Closed for "link" and skimmed through and did find one that is similar. If it is there, it is hidden very well.

    I posted a new one: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape-web/issues/473

Actually now that I think of it, I don't think I ever made the formal report.  It was denied before I ever posted the report.  But I'm happy to now have it considered.  It drives me absolutely crazy!
