Using Inkscape with Cutters/Plotters Newbie trying to split text and an image from a .PNG file

    Hello,

    I am a newbie to Inkscape. I have a .PNG image that contains a very rasterized image as well as pretty nice looking text. My goal is to separate these two images to ultimately create a carbide create file for my Shapeoko CNC unit to carve a sign. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a good vector file and am trying to back into this to create this sign as a gift, so I can't ask them for the artwork. Is there anyone out there that performs a service to do this and create something i can use to carve maybe a 12" by 24" wide sign? I don't think I have enough time to try to convert this myself as I envisioned this sign being a Christmas gift...
