I'm outsourcing Inkscape dxf files to the laser cutting firm. They are using AutoCAD and complain the paths are not joined so they have to do it manually. dxf is ok, tried every possible combination of exporting in Inkscape. Is there a way to bypass this export/import problem?¬ Thanks, D.
To my knowing that´s the nature of DFX. You can have either small straight segmented lines for shapes (LWPOLYLINE type) or with spline output your curvatures (ROBO-Master) - but still segments.
You can import the dxf back into Inkscape and join the segments quickly (Select all with select tool - then draw a rectangle around the whole design with the Node-tool and click "Join selected nodes)- but saving as DXF will result in segmented lines again. Maybe send a SVG file instead.

You're right. Join can only be done in AutoCAD manually. Thanks, D.
