Using Inkscape with Cutters/Plotters curves not round, splines,

I downloaded the newest version of inkscape (1.02) on my windows 10 computer. When converting the completed svg file into a dxf format (dxf R12) non of the curves or radiusses are round anymore, see photo attached. I downloaded extensions like "big blue saw" and "Better dfx output" in order to achieve the desired results but whatever I do I get an error messages from "syntax errors" to "no d attribute".

I get these messages working with both of these extensions. Saved as dxf R14 I get these lines all over the place as you can see in the second picture. If I save as a pdf everything looks perfect. Any ideas ? Did I overlook any settings that might be important ?

    Thanks a lot, cornelius

As far as I can see the "big blue saw" and "better dxf output" are from 2010 or earlier. After Inkscape v1.0 most extensions would need some rewriting to work.

R12 DXF is straight lines only so you should not expect round curves from that. With R14 you can have curves. I have had some issues with accuracy for DXF output when importing to my cutter software (Silhouette Studio). I wrote a blogpost describing my experiments on how to best export to my cutter. Maybe it will be helpful.

I have not seen these lines you see everywhere. I downloaded the eDrawings software to open my own DXF files generated from Inkscape with R14. I have not studied this in detail, but in general I find the same as when opening my DXF files in Silhouette Studio. Maybe you could share the original svg file to understand why you get those lines all over the place?

Ellen, thank you so much !! Just adding more nodes did the trick, I wish I would have seen your blogpost earlier. Talking about the lines I must admit my memories served me wrong. I looked up the notes I took a while ago when working on it and actually the lines were created when I grouped / linked  all the individual parts together. It took me several attempts but finally I managed to receive a file without the lines. Also during that process some of the very small holes became more or less triangels. No in R14 DXF everything is fine ! Thanks again.
