I updated this as a bug, since the behaviour its different between the same release of inkscape, but with different channels (Snap, app image, etc).

But maybe im being dumb and just dont know how to use the text tool well enough, so im posting here too.

Issue:

• Cannot add new line spaces with text tool.
• The line spaces are erased from files created in other version of Inkscape.
• Different behavior and rendering of text between same release. (And different channels of software distributions)

Behavior. Right now, the latest APPImage of Inkscape its working as expected (V1.0.1). Can create text with spaces between lines. no issues. If you open the same file with the Snap or APP versions of Inkscape (Same latest release 1.0.1), the line spaces are deleted. You cannot add new line spaces at the end of the text. The only way its by pressing enter between an existing character or line of text.

If you add new lines, and open again with the APPimage version, the extra blank spaces are displayed.

• Installed Inkscape trunk in the latest version, same incorrect behavior. (V 1.12.16)
• This happens with documents created with any version of Inkscape.

System Kubuntu 20.04. Updated Inkscape from Snap and PPA v1.0.1 (Incorrect behavior) Inkscape from PPA V.1.12.16 (Incorrect) Inkscape from APPimage v1.0.1 (Correct) Inkscape from PPA V.92 (Correct)

So its seems like its really a bug, already checked by one of inkscape developers in the gitlab link.
