I ahve drawn this file largely using paths. (I now realize I could have done it more simply with shapes.) I am trying to import into a cutting program called Cricut and it says the file is huge. Is there any way to simplify the file at this point?
Here's what I see: The file has an incorrect scale and the bitmap images are still hidden in the file.
I'll suggest trying the attached artwork file with the cricut.
If the file is not rejected, and if you regularly use the cricut with 8.5x14 media, you can put the attached default.svg into your user profile so the basic template opens each time you launch a new document in Inkscape. (C:/users/yourusername/appData/Roaming/inkscape/templates)

I'm glad to see you made it to the new forum, jimcubie!
