I can create a grid of any size I want, but do not know if it is possible to align the grid to the vertical and horizontal rulers. For example, say I create a grid with major lines every 25 units and I adjust the zoom so I see major ruler marks every 25 units, is there a way to move the grid so it lines up with the rulers?
Edit: new information. Both the units in the header and those for the grid are set to mm. They still don't match.
The OP (me) was not sufficiently observant. Since other could fall into the same pit I did, an explanation might be useful.
If you create a grid using the same units as shown in the overall header, everything will line up as it should. However, if you didn't and later change the units of the grid to match that in the header, the displayed grid does not change. Instead, the specified spacing is adjusted to match the newly specified units. For example, if the header was in inches and you originally created a grid in millimeters with X and Y spacing of 10.0, when you change the units for the grid to inches, the X and Y spacing is changed to 0.3937. I missed that part. 😞
