Inkscape is a tool of creative discovery. Maps and islands have been the real world equivalent of new discoveries - so the 1.2 island appeared with endless ideas hovering around it.
My entry is all about the fun I have when working with Inkscape. It's an awesome tool and makes the creation of vector art a joy. I tried to get that vibe across as well as use some of the great features of the tool to showcase the abilities in a 'not quite like any other tool' way. Enjoy!
Hi everyone ! I decided to create an image that emphasizes on the collaborative work of Inkscape and its accessibility to everyone. So here are my little townies representing the Inkscape community building the software as a colorful city with Inkscape tools. Version 1.2 is coming and it's literally a new dawn for these digital townies ^^ Fonts used : Roboto (Google Fonts) Download and license : https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Roboto?preview.text=INKSCAPE&preview.text_type=custom#license
Every human being who works with desgin or illustration, has an artist within himself, and uses tools to enhance and present his ideas, convictions and art. I represent these artists here in a tune with inkscape, presenting the new features and improvements of the software, making it increasingly versatile, which is already excellent has gotten even better. The idea is really in this illustration to bring the contemporary with digital art, presenting the traditional with the modern. Sun Wave Rising is my abstract interpretation of Inkscape's growth. My goal for this design was to create something simple using beginner techniques that new users can learn easily. Full step-by-step tutorial, highlighting the Inkscape features used and showing my workflow coming tomorrow on the IronEcho Design YT channel. It's been a while I would like to try a mushroom forest. That was a good occasion to do so. Multipages, new gradient management and enhancement, snapping alignments... Inkscape 1.2 will be awesome ! Fonts : Linux Libertine and Euphoria Script Regular Extended https://inkscape.org/about/branding/
This image has two halves. The left one is a finished image and the right one shows only line paths. Also, there are certain elements in the right half that are showcasing that you really can do these kind of images with Inkscape. - Basis for the mask of Tutankhamun: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:CairoEgMuseumTaaMaskMostlyPhotographed.jpg - Basis for the scarab silhouette: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:077_img_perso_Egypte.jpg Fonts used: - Linux Libertine (https://inkscape.org/~bryce/%E2%98%85linux-libertine) - Euphoria Script Regular Extended (https://inkscape.org/~bryce/%E2%98%85euphoria-script-regular-extended) - Ubuntu (https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Ubuntu) - Oswald (https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Oswald)

This is my entry for the 1.2 About screen contest. It started with the new "multi page" feature, and mysteriously evolved into a "multi sheet" origami!! Fonts used: Linux Libertine, https://inkscape.org/gallery/item/10250/. Euphoria Script, https://inkscape.org/gallery/item/10249/
This image has the 4 newest features that appeared in Inkscape 1.2. Can be seen on the top plate of the UFO plane From the left there is a Refactored Color Palette, Multiple Page Documents, New Snapping Guides, and Re-imagined Gradient Panel features. The position of the UFO plane, which is slightly tilted to the right, symbolizes dynamics, meaning that Inkscape will always advance and keep up with the times. Why did I choose the UFO plane? because it is mysterious but always a hot topic. Like Inkscape, which seems not widely known, but always brings good features that can compete with other well-known software. My submission illustrates a small wassie using all its creativity running Inkscape 1.2. Like me, the character works late at night and gets excessive blue light from its computer (wearing sunglasses can fix this easily).
Hi, I made this entry for the About Screen Contest for Inkscape 1.2. I am a teen who has gained an interest in vectors starting with Adobe Illustrator. I was shown to Illustrator by my visual design teacher and I have been in love with vector graphic editors ever since. A few months later I looked into Inkscape because I know I can't pay for Illustrator. And I was amazed at how well features were implemented. So, I wish more great features will get implemented as well as all the contributors to have good luck and a bunch of fun (and more work done on this). (also the Bot's name is a WIP but for now, I call him Draw bot or Drawbe)
