Hey there! I was working for the past 6 hours on a project. I did save it in between but forgot to do it during the last 2 hours of work. Unfortunately, this is where Inkscape crashed and was not able to create a backup file. I did restore the file, but can't open it up. Whenever I try to open it, Inkscape says it's not able to load the file and opens a blank file instead. If there is a way to recover the file fully, I would appreciate it a lot! So thank you all in advance for your time and help.
A little side note: To prevent situations like this to happen again I tried to look up how to activate the "autosave" function, but for some reason, I do not have it. I have followed all the guides and the option was not at its intended place. Any idea why?
When you you have "Autosave" enabled you might be able to find Inkscape files on your harddisk-> Preferences->Input/Output->Autosave->Autosave directory
Ok, I figured out why I have no autosave option; it's due to my Inkscape version (0.92.1). I've downloaded the 1.1 version. But I've noticed that the old version is interfering with the new one, therefore Inkscape closes the SVG files "Due to internal issues". Since I've imported the new files into my current directory, I fear the program will have issues with older SVGs if I delete the old version. Also, the "ReadMe.md" says that there is an "Instal.md", but there isn't. (I've downloaded the Windows 64-bit compressed version). (SOLVED)

I have no clue what kind of file this might be - but it´s not an SVG. Opening in a text-editor shows this cryptic content:
