Beginners' Questions Is it possible to have Separate Guidelines per Layer?

I'm using quite a few Layers whilst creating a "plan" type diagram, for showing different views of a yacht and it's various sail combinations etc.

It would be very helpful to have Guidelines that I could use on just certain Layers, Is this possible?

There are grid generator extensions the make actual paths on any layer. I'd make them on a separate layer that can be locked and hidden when not needed.

Thanks for the suggestion Tyler, but that wouldn't help me... I set guidelines very precisely to help set up other objects, or for scaling images to diagrams, etc.

Maybe the Cartesian grid generator?  (Not sure where there is lack of precision.)

There is also the option of using rectangles on a dedicated layer that can be locked or hidden. Any object can be placed with precision.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of rectangles... would work in some situations quite OK, I think.

    Cheers, Max
