    I thought he extension manager, and clicking on available packages there, should install, but it´s all greyed out.
    So..do you first have to download manually then open from extension manager and install?

    Inkscape 1.4 version

    Here are the instructions from the website:

    To install a new extension, download and unpack the archive file. Copy the files into the directory listed at Edit > Preferences > System: User extensions . After a restart of Inkscape, the new extension will be available.

    However, I just did this for the Lasercut Jigsaw, the files are in the directory, but when Inkscape load the extension is not there.

    I'm using the latest stable version.  Can anyone help?

    TIA - Richard

    Look in the extensions folder and open lasercut jigsaw folder you've just pasted. Open the .inx file with a text editor, you'll find in which extension submenu to find your extension.

    EDIT : if you open .inx file, you'll find :

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <inkscape-extension xmlns="http://www.inkscape.org/namespace/inkscape/extension">
        <name>Lasercut Jigsaw</name>

    [....]
                <submenu name="Render"/>
            </effects-menu>
     [....]
    </inkscape-extension>

    So, you'll find the extension under : Extensions > Render > Lasercut Jigsaw

    👍

    David,

    David248

    So, you'll find the extension under : Extensions > Render > Lasercut Jigsaw

    That was the missing piece to my puzzle of making it work (so to speak).  This is exactly what I needed and it is a great extension!

    Thanks very much,

    Richard
