Beginners' Questions How to change knots in a "mirrored" symmetrical way

    Hi there,

I tried to design a very simple cuttingboard with a handle. The round handle should be connected to the board with some kind of bow.

Let's start with the basics: one rectangle und for the handle a circle --> https://freeimage.host/i/HJU66hX

Ok, both objects were combined and lead to this --> https://freeimage.host/i/HJU6UkN

What I want is to connect the handle and the board with a bow (or any other curve of my choice). I tried to "paint" what my intension was --> https://freeimage.host/i/HJU64It

So what I actually did was:
    1. I moved the knot in the corner with CTRL key a litte bit up.
    2. I played with the path points (not sure how these are called) until I got an "OK" result: https://freeimage.host/i/HJU6gpI

I am sure, that there might be an better way, but I haven't found it yet.
But my biggest probleme here is, that I need to do the exact same thing on the other side of the handle. There is no chance, that both bows (or curves) will look exactly the same, but only mirrored, when I do this manually.

    Can you help me?

    Thanks a lot!

In the path effect options, increase the radius to something you like, then:

Wow - that is perfect! Thanks a lot for your help!

By the way: how did you handle to put images directly into this post?

    No problem. 🙂

Use the paperclip in the bottom left corner:

Upload the file and then select the speech bubble icon on the right.

Your colours are probably different from mine because I use a browser plugin that makes bright colours dark.

Be aware that the file quota on this forum is 15 MB. I run most of my images through Gimp, converting them to 8 or 16 colour indexed mode. That makes them really small and just as good if you don't need many colours.
