Before v.1, I could export the several different objects of an .svg separately, and when I tab to the Filename field, just enter a1 and the filename saved would be a1.png. Now I have to manually edit every single file with the .png extension. When my .svg has many objects, this becomes a huge hassle. Any way to get Inkscape to once again append the .png to exported filenames automatically?
That is a pretty cool solution if the parts are not overlapping, thanks inklinea! If the parts are overlapping, I can first set the size, then move the objects apart and they save in the proper scale each with the .png extension.

Inkscape 1.1 introduced a batch export object checkbox ( as shown in the attached image ).
It might help.

If you are working on a copy ( don't save over the original ).
There is a function in the Object>Align and Distribute Panel, which will move objects to remove overlaps.
You can type in values if you want.
It might be useful, to click it, drag select then batch export.
