Having Windows 10 and Google Chrome besides Inkscape 1.2 that I installed two days ago, I am testing the Interpolate function. I have a blue rectangle and a red circle. Both are converted to paths. I select both. Then I invoke Interpolate. I set the steps to 5, Methods 1 and 2 are missing; instead there are 2 other choices which I don't understand. Whether I check one or the other, the result is nil. What corrections do I make for success?
The simple move of resetting the system enabled the interpolate function; the rectangle and circle executed the required intermediate steps. You have made a satisfied learner. Thank you!

Before proceeding further, I'd reset the preferences. https://inkscape.org/forums/questions/getting-back-to-square-one-and-starting-over-its-easy/
That said, is something unexpected happening?
