Since I am using version 1.2.2 I have a problem when I copy an object, than select a layer in the layers pane and paste.
You would expect that the copy should apear in the selected layer, but it doesn't. If the selected layer is a sublayer the copy apears in the parent of the selected layer. If there is no parent it lands in the root.
Of coarse I can use the new option to click left on the object and select Move to Layer..., but if you want to copy several times in different locations copy-past is much faster..
Fun fact: if you switch Layers by short-cut (Layer->Switch to…) after copying - pasting will work. It´s probably a bug when selecting a new Layer in Layers panel and pasting will insert into "root" layer instead.

There is a setting in the Preferences
I tried Layer-> Switch, but than the copy is made in the layer it came from. I agree it is probably a bug.
Thank you Tyler, that solved it!
