We're in the final stages for the 0.39 release. Development work is tapering down as feature implementation work is completed or wrapped up for the release. We will be gradually "freezing" development, as follows:
- June 28 - 'Feature chill' - no new features are started. Developers start wrapping up feature work and focusing on bug fixing.
- July 5 - 'Feature freeze' - only bug fixing to occur after this point. Our goal is to eliminate critical bugs.
- TBD - 'Hard freeze' - short period with no changes except under careful change control. We test the releases, and once we get one all we really like...
- Release
You can notice the fruits of the recent code cleanup in the reduction of code lines, while increasing comment line counts. The bug ratio, at 19%, has remained consistently low since our bug hunt; our feature ratio has also remained fairly constant since the start of the year, at around 75%. We've begun tracking stats on translations in this report; we hope to see both the translation ratio and the total number of PO files grow higher.
