Work is progressing towards the 0.43 release. We'd bumped back out of hard freeze mode when it was found that there was significant bug fix work still needed. However, over the past week since then, most of the issues have been closed. There is one minor remaining one for the SPDesktop change, one related to translation of menus.xml, and one crash bug in the connector code.
Special mention needs to be given to the Windows-specific Inkscape bugs. This is probably the weakest area of our project right now; even the relatively new OSX port is advancing more rapidly. In part the trouble is simply lack of one or two coders to put attention into the port.
