Project Status

Well, another month with no SourceForge statistics, but the other stats we collect show steady growth for the project. Interesting to see that our linecount has been reduced a few thousand lines over the past month. Mental has been doing a bunch of code cleanup, so I would guess this has caused some linecount reduction.
Several folks from the Open Clip Art Library have started a 'Planet' site for aggregating RSS feeds from developers in various graphics projects. http://openclipart.org/planet/
We're still in deep development mode. In addition to Mental's major cleanup work, Bulia has been continuously adding cool new features, Bryce is working on hooking up a Gtkmmified canvas, Jon Cruz is inventing new Panel and Palette metaphors, Cyreve is busily revising the text layout system, Peter has been fixing bugs and adding helper functions, Jean Lemaire has made some improvements to the layer commands, Jon Philip has been helping with gtkmm on the Dialog Manager code, and probably more that wasn't listed in ChangeLog.
There's been a rise in scripting interest lately, and I understand work is underway in writing an Inkscape manual. Hopefully we'll see more of such side activities in the coming months. :-)
